Stephen Ball

Dr. Ball grew up in Marion, Iowa and attended Loras College in Dubuque where he majored in History and Biology with minors in chemistry and archaeology.  He also found time to be on the college swim team for 4 years and helped manage the college’s radio station. He graduated from Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015 and has practiced in Des Moines, Ankeny, and now, Ames.
Dr. Ball loves working with all pets but has a soft spot for cats, small mammals, and birds.  Dr. Ball strives to create a low-stress environment and compassionate environment to create the best possible visit both now and for the future.
He lives at home with his wife (Erin), 5 cats (Regulus, Narcissa, Pangur Bán, Alastor, and Amaranthe), and tortoise (Aegis). His favorite hobbies are board games, reading, cooking, and gardening.
